What exactly is Black Jack? Is this a game on good luck or do you need some experience to be successful?

That’s the question I asked myself and wanted to find out what the hype was about casinos. Until I saw a documentary about a blackjack team, I was unsure whether I should really face this player madness. In the end, I dared.

This documentary was about how to defeat the casino as a blackjack player. In the 70’s, a professor at the university chose some of his students to do a special training. He taught the students everything they needed to know about Blackjack. This included card counting, the mathematics of the game and all sorts of strategies. The belief was strong that you could make good money with Blackjack if you had a suitable group of players. Some players lose, but again there are one or two of them who make up for it with their winnings. The students went to their limits and were left with environments where there were pretty women, handsome men or free drinks. Anything to distract the players. They used a suitable starting capital and had moved to Las Vegas to put their plan into action. They were making losses, but all the more profits and lots of money.

But what does that mean for a casino player who wants to try Blackjack?

You can actually defeat a casino, as this documentation has shown. However, only with a selected team, which also voluntarily wants to play every day for several hours.

And yet I also dared to enjoy playing Blackjack, because: As you know, all beginnings are difficult.

I was rather the cautious player and dared at the beginning to bet only smaller amounts in order to test myself. However, with a little practice you could quickly find a routine here, so that you didn’t have to suffer losses in the double-digit range for bets of one or two euros. At some point the losses were minimized and with time you became so good that you could also register positive values on the account.

I have predominantly gambled at home at the PC, because here the concentration was strongest. At first actually the losses accumulated on up to 15 euro, but with each further experience these sank already fast on four or five euro and now the profits are also present in the two digit range.

I never felt like the real gambler, but I can’t deny that you can be carried away by the game Black Jack, especially if you can experience the luck of winning for yourself.

The thoughts towards the beginning often came up to let the game go, because it’s frustrating to make the big money with it. But I stayed on the ball and in the end I have to say, it was really worth it. After a few games, I was able to better evaluate my cards and the losses became less. They didn’t stay away, but they stayed within a certain range, which is quite bearable. This also made the game more fun for me. It’s also quite normal to have less luck on some days, but in a game of chance, as the name suggests, that’s the normal case.

As soon as I notice that I’m bored or that luck has actually left me, I sit down at another table and play a small round of 2-against-1 instead. A good starting hand is important and if you have the feeling, as I do, you often have such a good hand, you can dare to bet higher. For me, it’s not about winning or losing, it’s about enjoying the game of blackjack.

I’m sure I’ll stay with the game for the time being and won’t venture into any other games at the moment, as I’ve already got used to this game. For example, instead of a glass of wine to finish the evening after work, I’d rather play a round of Blackjack.
