There are many ways to play blackjack. All casinos worldwide offer a wide variety of blackjack options. Whether at machines against a computer or also at real Black Jack tables against real persons, depending upon personal preferences and tastes can be “gambled” for hours.

As with all other games of chance, Blackjack is largely a game in which luck is the deciding factor. Working out a real strategy is risky and can ultimately give no guarantee of a real win.

I tried my luck with Black Jack in Las Vegas at a table with several people and a “real” bank (a real person). With little experience I found my way into the game relatively quickly. My strategy (if you can call it that) was limited to a simple “hit” and “stay”. I didn’t even dare to play games like “Insurance” or “Split”. With my simple game I also “drove” very well at first, so that I did not find further game variants at all necessary.

Blackjack is simply about winning against the bank. Explicitly, this means reaching as high a hand as possible without exceeding the “21”. In the best case, you reach exactly 21 and have won automatically. It is therefore hardly possible to develop a strategy in this game. It is simply a matter of deciding whether it makes sense to want to receive more cards and whether there is a risk of exceeding 21. In this case, the game would be lost immediately and the banker would receive the bet.

I have played with relatively humane stakes. I bet about 10 US dollars per game. As with other games, I won the first few games straight away and without much knowledge. So after the first evening I had a win of 150 US dollars. For me, it was clear that this was a very reasonable game of chance and that winning was pre-programmed. I wasn’t alone with this attitude and unfortunately it came as it had to: On the following three evenings I lost my entire stake as well as an additional 500 US dollars. A bitter experience.

This personal experience confirmed me once more in the assumption that Black Jack is also a pure game of chance. Strategies may work out a few times and a win is realistic, but in the long run a loss is inevitable.

For me, blackjack is a social game with a high tension factor. The nervousness is probably written all over your face throughout the game. I’m convinced that only those players who understand when to stop can go home with a win. But that’s a point that very few players realize, and most players go home with a hole in their wallet on those evenings.

Since my Blackjack game at the table was rather modest, I tried my luck again with a Blackjack machine. Again, I won several times in a row, so the joy was great. In summary, I lost all my money at the Black Jack machine.

So the only chance to win is: watch tables in advance, dare cautious bets, stop after a win and have luck on your side.
