I became aware of Tipico through a friend. I never had anything to do with betting, but once I made an Oddsett bet at a football match. He explained to me how the concept works. We lost the bet, but I was tempted to continue betting. I don’t know much about football myself, which is why I only bet by odds on my Tipico bets. Of course I saved myself the trouble of betting on the absolute top favourites. That would have meant that I wouldn’t have won anything because of the betting taxes. I always picked out bets with a odds of 1.10 or better. But I never bet on outsiders. My money was always too good for that. Is it still today.

In principle I found and find this very exciting. Admittedly, I haven’t won much yet. But I am also rather reserved. At the moment I only bet on Bundesliga matches. But since I don’t know the Bundesliga very well, I don’t guess every match. I’m already choosy there. I also watch the matches and feverishly follow them. But I’m not a fan who would go to the stadium. Since I only bet on victory or defeat, I don’t know much about how the other bets work. I can imagine that, but I haven’t tried them yet.

I’m also thinking about betting on volleyball at the moment. I’m very interested in sports and I play volleyball myself. So I know how fast something can spin during the game. I’ve looked at volleyball betting and will probably try a certain strategy. I’ll bet on the favourites in the game first. If the underdog scores better than expected, then I’ll bet on him. Bets can also be sold. I’ll probably sell the bet I got my bet back with. That means in the end that my profit is not so high, but that doesn’t bother me. I bet more for fun and less to get rich.

My bets are also limited. In my football bets, I always only bet a maximum of 5 euros. Less than 5 Euro is not worthwhile in my eyes at all. If I were to bet more than 5 euros, I would probably have a guilty conscience if I lost the money. At the moment I am halfway satisfied. I am in the plus and have already earned a little. Not much, but I find it practical. Every profit I have, I transfer to my account, or better said to the PayPal account. I don’t want to use the profit again. In the stupidest case that would mean that I would lose all of them if I lost.

I haven’t tried other betting providers yet. I am actually satisfied with Tipico. I use my credit card to make a deposit. This means that I have to show self-discipline, but I actually do. I use PayPal to pay out because it’s easier for me. At Tipico there are countless methods to load money into your betting account. But the others don’t interest me. I am also not interested in trying other platforms. I compared that for fun. Of course one platform has a better odds here and there than the other. But in the end I’m probably too seldom on the road at Tipico to compare it. I think the Tipico odds are fair.

I only bet from my computer. I know that it also works from a smartphone, but somehow it’s not my thing. I find it clearer on the computer. The screen is bigger and I know where to click. I think the smartphone is more for people who bet more “professionally”.

I’ve heard from many quarters that I have to be careful about gambling. But I think I’m someone who has it under control. I bet too little and too well thought out to be more than fun. I think it’s nice for me personally, too. In the end, I’m interested in a sport that doesn’t really interest me for sporting reasons. So I can have my say. If you look at it closely, it’s also a positive social factor. Of course I don’t know the soccer players. But because I bet, I at least know what it looks like in the Bundesliga.
